What Mentorship and Training Opportunities Are Available at TrueCare?

Phyllis is soft-spoken and approachable, which is part of what makes her such a great fit as a Clinical Nurse Manager. When you meet her, you can tell she genuinely cares, whether you’re a new hire, a current employee, or a patient. 

“We have mentorship and training opportunities, especially for new hires. During the onboarding process, it’s really important to have competent staff who can train them and give a good orientation,” Phyllis said. “We value providing a good onboarding and hiring experience for new hires because it leads to a better patient experience. Just like we have a community-focused approach to health care, we have an internal community-focused approach to training our team. You’ll learn from everyone,” she added.

“I love working for community health because I have a heart for people,” Phyllis said. “Especially with behavioral health, I enjoy this field because there’s no stigma, and our focus is always on getting people back to normal and helping them rediscover their joy. Being there for patients, restoring that happiness, and helping patients live their best lives is one of the greatest feelings for me,” she said.

Ultimately, this mission-driven approach to health care is what she finds to be the most meaningful aspect of our work. For Phyllis, working at TrueCare is endlessly fulfilling because she genuinely cares about people.

Phyllis also loves the location of our clinic and believes that it’s one of the best perks of working here.

“One thing I really love about working at this clinic is that you can get on Oceanside Boulevard, go straight a couple of miles down, and you will be at the beach,” she said. “So, if you want to go there during your lunch hour or right after work, a peaceful walk on the beach can be an excellent way to unwind, and it’s only a few minutes away,” she added.  

What Is the Team Dynamic Like at TrueCare?

When discussing the team dynamic, Phyllis proudly stood beside a sign hung in our clinic that serves as a work mantra for the TrueCare team.

“A huge part of our team dynamic is printed on this sign. Always be honest, always be kind, and always be friendly,” Phyllis said, motioning to a sign in her office. “This is really important to our organization because it’s key to building great relationships with our staff,” she elaborated with a smile. 

Phyllis also strives to create an environment that finds the right role for the right people to ensure they are in a position to thrive professionally and personally. This support is what makes our team dynamic special. 

“We have many different facets here at TrueCare, and we know that we can find somewhere where you can thrive and be elevated to be the best that you can be as an employee. What’s a Day Like for You at TrueCare?

As a Clinical Nurse Manager, Phyllis understands the importance of maintaining great relationships with her staff, which is what informs her day-to-day work life. 

“When I come in in the morning, I go to each section of the clinic, including the chiropractor, dental, and behavior health sections, and smile,” Phyllis beamed. “It’s really important for me to do a pulse check-in with every team member and set the tone for the day,” she said. 

Just as importantly, however, when you work at TrueCare, you will be working with the latest in health care technology on a daily basis, meaning every day is an opportunity to grow and develop in your field.
