Jorge Otañez, MD
I was born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico where I attended medical school, and practiced medicine as a GP until I moved to Los Angeles to attend the UCLA IMG program followed by UCSD Family Medicine Residency where I served as chief resident. I’ve practiced in the FQHC world since finishing residency and have held several administrative roles as clinician lead, adult medicine department chair and most recently chief medical officer. I became a physician to be able to serve patients and communities that are in need of high quality health care regardless of their socioeconomic status. I am very grateful and excited for the opportunity that TrueCare has given me. I am looking forward to continue to serve the community I’ve been working with for the past 4 years.
When I’m not working you can find me catching a Padres game, spending time with my family, playing the saxophone or traveling.
