SDBJ Honors TrueCare’s Briana Cardoza as Business Woman of the Year

TrueCare’s Briana Cardoza, Chief of Business Development, has been honored as a finalist by San Diego Business Journal as one of this year’s Business Women of the Year. The recognition acknowledges Briana’s strategic initiatives for driving positive change in our communities.

Briana is known for consistently identifying robust endeavors to expand health care access to vulnerable populations and patients needing quality care. Through her leadership, her teams have effectively developed strategies and outreach plans that have introduced TrueCare services to more people in our region. With a focus on promoting the importance of preventive care, her and her teams have prioritized new community partnerships and collaborated to establish innovative programs and funding opportunities.

As a strong advocate of expanded health care for all, she plays a pivotal role in spreading the word about the vital work of community health centers and cultivates an robust ecosystem of ongoing funding to support patients.

In 2023, Briana was at the forefront of opening two new clinic locations, launching two additional service lines, and driving a highly effective strategy that has resulted in a remarkable 25% increase in new patients. Nearly 30 new partnerships have been developed and another dozen are in the works. Under Briana, more than $4M in grant funding has been secured and counting.

As Michelle D. Gonzalez, TrueCare President & CEO, says, “What truly distinguishes Briana is her humility. She constantly defers credit to others, prioritizing their needs ahead of hers. Her acumen in business is remarkable, marked by her no-nonsense approach. Briana exemplifies unwavering commitment to TrueCare’s mission, team members, and patients—delivering exceptional results without compromising quality or integrity. Briana will always get the job done, reminding us of the profound difference one person can make.”

TrueCare is thrilled to see Briana’s impactful, hard work recognized by San Diego Business Journal. We join them in celebrating her achievements as a woman leader!
