1. Excellence
Within the TrueCare culture, Excellence means consistently striving for the highest standards in every task, from patient interaction to administrative support.
This commitment is vital because it directly impacts patient outcomes and builds essential trust within the community we serve. By pursuing the best in everything we do, our organization ensures we provide the most reliable and quality health care.
“Both sites are super collaborative – this is the key to the excellence in health care we are able to provide. We’re care teams for each other’s sites, so we’re always reaching back and forth and trying to get patients in where we can get them in if needed. These warm handoffs ensure patients get holistic care and ensure they never slip through the cracks. It’s great because it ensures patients never slip through the cracks, which happens all too often in private practices. Our team efforts help deliver that quality of service,” explained Christina Westcott, TrueCare’s Health Center Manager II for Encinitas and Carlsbad.
To showcase this value in your job application, highlight specific certifications or a time you went above and beyond a job requirement to substantially improve a service or process. We recommend having a few concrete examples to discuss during your interview, too.

2. Integrity
Integrity means acting with unwavering honesty, transparency, and strong moral principles, even when facing difficult decisions.
Ethical practice is the absolute foundation of patient safety and professional credibility and is essential to delivering transparent health care. When a community places its trust in us, we must honor that trust with accountability and ethical behavior in every health center.
“With TrueCare, I saw a lot of the qualities that I try to embody as a physician, like working with integrity and really caring for the community. That’s what inspired me to choose to work at TrueCare, and it’s just been another wonderful part of my life here in California,” smiled Dr. Maria Chavez Santos when reflecting on what this value means to her.
To demonstrate integrity, an example to showcase this value would be a difficult situation where you prioritized ethical guidelines or company policy over expediency. It would be great to bring examples of times you demonstrated this in volunteer work to an interview!
3. Teamwork
At TrueCare, Teamwork is defined by seamless collaboration, mutual respect, and open communication across all departments and roles in our health centers.
This coordination is critical because fully integrated care teams deliver holistic and complete health care experiences, which directly impact the well-being and health equity of every patient. A successful team lifts everyone up, from new hires to seasoned providers.
In other words, a rising tide lifts all ships.
“Teamwork is really critical to everything we do. It’s important that we all mesh together because it creates a better patient experience and, ultimately, better patient outcomes. It doesn’t matter what your role is. We all work as one, and we all have each other’s backs,” explained Shirley Sefarino, a Registered Nurse (RN) at TrueCare Perris.
During your interview, describe a time you successfully partnered with another department or profession to solve a patient-related problem or improve a care plan.

4. Quality of Care and Services
This core value is a deep commitment to patient-centered, effective, and timely service delivery that meets the diverse needs of every individual we serve. Of all of the TrueCare core values, this one is vital for you to understand for success at one of our health centers.
This focus ensures our time and resources are concentrated on achieving health equity and providing underserved communities with the high-quality health care they deserve. Everything we do must be geared toward providing the best possible patient experience.
When applying, discuss your personal approach to patient experience, perhaps mentioning how you tailor your communication or service style to different community needs. This is especially important because of the diverse patients you will help in working here!

This proactive mindset allows our organization to sustainably expand access to services and adapt quickly to the ever-evolving landscape of community health care. We value individuals who look for opportunities to improve the status quo, no matter how small.
“It’s really great to work with cutting-edge technology because it means we’re all constantly developing our skills. Our team truly embraces innovation and is constantly evolving to make the community better, enabling us to achieve true healing and care at TrueCare. That attitude is baked into our organizational DNA,” said Phyllis Mason, a team leader at the Oceanside Specialty location.
Mention a specific process improvement you suggested or implemented in a previous role that resulted in a measurable positive change. We also embrace cutting-edge technology, so demonstrating an enthusiasm to continuously learn and use new technologies is important.

6. Stewardship
Stewardship requires us to be responsible, ethical caretakers of the financial, environmental, and human resources entrusted to us by our community and stakeholders.
Responsible management ensures the long-term sustainability of our mission, guaranteeing that we can continue to provide essential community health care for generations to come. This applies to everything, from managing a budget to mentoring a junior team member.
“TrueCare has really done a lot to help me become a better leader. They’ve invested a lot, whether it’s in my education or encouraging me to do a lot of seminars or exposing me to other organizations and leaders. They are always encouraging me to learn, which shows the commitment to Stewardship of their people. This is truly a place where you can grow and develop,” said Dinh Bui, the Philanthropy Specialist at TrueCare, when he was reflecting on his experience within the organization.
To showcase this in your application, provide an example of how you have judiciously managed resources, such as reducing waste or optimizing a budget. During your interview, consider bringing up times you demonstrated leadership and accountability on the job.
