TrueCare Ramona earned the prestigious honor of 2022 Nonprofit of the Year from the Ramona Chamber of Commerce at their Community Awards Gala on January 29, 2023.
The community health center opened locally in November 2018 and has been providing greater access to health care, connecting with residents, and partnering with other local nonprofits ever since. Services at the location include medical, dental, chiropractic, and behavioral health, plus a convenient on-site lab for tests. It also offers access to a Women, Infant & Children (WIC) office, the California-sponsored program that provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, and referrals to health care and other community services.
“We are proud to be readily available for the residents of Ramona, providing services regardless of income or insurance status,” says Rick Lambert, TrueCare Ramona’s health center manager. “We don’t turn anyone away.”
TrueCare, which serves North County San Diego and South Riverside through 19 health centers and WIC locations, expanded to Ramona with the commitment of delivering convenient, quality, affordable health care for residents of all ages so that they don’t have to drive down the hill.
“Good health enables them to ride their horses, hike in the countryside, socialize at community events as well as thrive at work, at school and at play,” adds Lambert.
Additionally, TrueCare’s bilingual staff — many with generational ties to Ramona for decades — treats a wide range of ailments from complicated health care conditions to every-day flu and cold symptoms.
