Alejandra Cabral, FNP
My journey in health care started in 2009 when I worked as a bedside nurse in the emergency department in downtown San Diego. I witnessed first-hand how many communities who were underserved, stigmatized, or had less access to resources resorted to the emergency department in much need of primary care services. It was then that my calling and vision to become a nurse practitioner in a community health clinic was solidified. My passion is to upbring the community around me and empower others to take charge of their health so they can accomplish great things in this world. The mission and vision of TrueCare aligns with my own, and along with my other colleagues, we strive to bring the best care possible to our patients and community.
I feel most gratification when I see patients feel success, gain self-confidence, and be truly engaged in their health care management. I am also a native Spanish speaker, which is a powerful quality when building strong patient relationships and engaging the predominantly Hispanic community that I serve. My clinical interests are working with the LGBTQ community and providing transgender affirming care. I am a huge advocate for health care equality and I strive to promote health and wellness so people can live happy, healthy lives.
Outside of the office, I enjoy exercise, travel, and spending quality time with family and friends, especially with my baby who was born in June 2020.
