An Overview of Employee Health Insurance at TrueCare
We mean it when we say we are committed to uplifting and serving our community, and that applies to both the surrounding communities and our internal community of employees! Here’s an overview of the employee health insurance plans we offer at TrueCare to give you a window into how we take care of our team.
Medical Plans
We offer employees a choice of several medical plans through UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and Kaiser. The options included in employee health insurance at TrueCare include:
- HMO Plans: There are three UHC HMO plans you can choose from – Harmony, Alliance, and Advantage – covering a wide network of top providers and one Kaiser HMO plan. With these plans, you select a primary care physician (PCP) from the participating network of providers who will coordinate all health care needs, including referrals to specialists and approvals for further medical treatment. Services received outside the HMO network are not covered except in the case of emergency medical care.
- Difference Card: Employees who enroll in one of the HMO medical plans will automatically be enrolled in the Difference Card program. The Difference Card is a MasterCard funded entirely by TrueCare that employees can use to help pay for a portion of the out-of-pocket expenses they may incur, such as medical copays, deductibles, and coinsurance expenses.
- PPO with HSA Plan: The UHC PPO with HSA plan is a kind of employee health insurance program that gives you the freedom and flexibility to use the provider of your choice. Benefits are maximized, and out-of-pocket costs are reduced if an in-network provider is used. The HSA Plan allows employees to save pre-tax dollars for qualified health-related expenses permitted under federal tax law.
Dental Plans
We offer employees a Low PPO Plan and a High PPO Plan as their dental options through UHC as part of the TrueCare employee health insurance package. The dental plans offer members the freedom and flexibility to use the dentist of their choice.
Benefits are maximized, and out-of-pocket costs are reduced if an in-network provider is used. Both plans provide coverage for preventive, basic, major, and orthodontia services.

Vision Plans
You also have the chance to enroll in the UHC vision plan, which covers eye exams, lenses, frames, and contacts. Members can use the provider of their choice, with benefits maximized and out-of-pocket costs reduced when an in-network provider is used.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
With the FSAs administered through the Difference Card, you can allocate pre-tax dollars to pay for qualified health care and/or dependent care expenses. We offer 3 types of FSAs for you to choose from as part of employee health insurance at TrueCare:
- Health Care FSA
- Limited-Purpose FSA
- Dependent Daycare FSA
Employee Assistance Program
We also provide you and your eligible family members with ComPsyche GuidanceResources employee assistance program (EAP) at NO COST! We understand that your mental health is just as important as your physical health and that they are inextricably connected.
The EAP provides you with confidential, 24/7 assistance to help manage the demands of work, life, and personal issues so that you can enjoy the work-life balance you enjoy. Benefits include unlimited telephone consultations, resources and tools online, and up to three free face-to-face counseling sessions per issue, per year.
Supplemental Benefits
Finally, we also provide voluntary accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance through Voya! These supplemental benefits are paid directly to you and are designed to complement your health care coverage and bridge any potential gaps in care.
