[H3] What Inspired You to Join Community Health Care?
Kenya’s choice to work at TrueCare is rooted in her experience as a patient. For her, working as an MA in a community health center is a direct way to give back to the place that cared for her and her family.
“I joined because I was a patient as well in the clinic here, and I enjoy being able to help others, especially with translating. That’s important because we have a lot of patients who need that. It’s a great feeling,” smiled Kenya.
By assisting with translation, Kenya says that she is proud to help break down critical barriers to care for the community, making it as accessible as it should always be.
“I love the care that was given to me as a kid and my family members as well. And just seeing how much TrueCare really cares about their patients made me want to join the team – I experienced the difference we make firsthand on the patient side,” said Kenya.

[H3] What Makes the TrueCare QuickCare Team Unique?
TrueCare’s QuickCare location is defined by its small, ambitious, and fast-paced environment. According to Kenya, this dynamic atmosphere keeps the work engaging and the day moving quickly.
“I like that there’s an X-ray here, and it’s in good condition. It makes it easier on our end with patients. And I’m only 15 minutes away, so I like that it’s close. The freeway’s right there, and everything’s nearby – it’s really a fantastic location. We are a small team, but it’s nice. It’s a fast pace, and the time goes by quickly. There’s never a dull moment,” Kenya explained.
When asked to describe the group? She chose one word: “ambitious.”
Beyond the fast pace, it’s the relationships that make the team special. TrueCare cultivates an environment where team members feel supported, creating a true sense of family. Kenya credits her partner, Brianna, as a key component of her support system.
“I would say my partner, with whom I’m always working, Brianna, is really amazing. She’s really smart, outgoing, driven, and eager to learn more since she’s brand new to the team. She just really loves learning, and she’s a hard worker, and those are two qualities that are really important to have if you want to succeed here,” beamed Kenya.
The commitment to patient care is also visible in the facilities.
“Something I love about this location is we have state-of-the-art equipment here, and we are eager and excited to have a new team member join to assist with that so we can help our patients faster as well,” she said.
Kenya also said that she’s in the Building Great Relationships (BGR) team, so she helps facilitate some of the culture-building activities, from celebrating birthdays and passing out cards to celebrating National Nurse Week.
“We love to get together every month and see what we can do. There are different days – like, just two days ago, it was National Guacamole Day, and we went and made guacamole. It was nice. Next week, it’s National Quesadilla Day, so we’re having a quesadilla bar, and all of us will bring different dishes. Amelda, for example, loves bringing lumpia – that’s my favorite. I just really enjoy it because it’s like we’re able to get together as a team and share ideas on what we can do. Everybody has their opinion, and we just combine them all into one. It’s nice that we’re able to come together and eat like a real family,” smiled Kenya.

[H3] How Does TrueCare Support Career Growth and Education?
For Kenya, her career at TrueCare is just beginning. After four years as an MA, she is eager to continue her professional journey, looking into options like LVN, RN, or even an HR setting, and she’s proud to pursue these goals within the TrueCare family.
“I’ve been working as an MA for the last four years, and I want to expand and learn more, maybe start working in different departments through TrueCare. I’ve had a little bit of experience in each department as an MA, but it would be nice to maybe get into an HR setting and do something new. I’m just up for a challenge all the time, and the leadership team here has been really supportive and really nurtured my growth,” said Kenya.
What keeps her with the organization is the company’s dedication to continuous education and development. TrueCare actively invests in its staff, providing regular training and meetings to ensure everyone is equipped to provide the highest level of care.
“I like the environment and what TrueCare stands for. It’s just a really great company, and there are always learning opportunities. I love that we constantly have meetings and training with Epic. We’re just always learning new things, and I love that. It’s always like a refresher every time we have our meetings. I like that TrueCare is very big on wanting us to help the community and be involved with providing different resources to educate patients and help them with MyChart. I’m able to assist the elderly patients there because they have a lot of issues using the phone and stuff, so it’s just really great that we’re able to get that kind of training,” Kenya shared.
